A new "karate kid" is on the rise in the new trailer of "Karate Kid: Legends."
The trailer introduces kung fu prodigy Li Fong, who moves to New York City with his mother. In his new school, he meets a new friend, Mia, and gets on the bad side of Connor, a five-time karate tournament champion.
Li's kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) taps original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help in training his protege. Li then embarks on a journey to merge two fighting styles together.
"Let's make a karate kid," LaRusso says.
"Karate Kid: Legends" expands the universe of "The Karate Kid," 40 years since the original movie came out.
“The Karate Kid,” both the 1984 original and the 2010 remake, follows Daniel and Dre, outcasts who learn martial arts from unlikely mentors to defend themselves from bullies.
“The Karate Kid” also has a sequel series “Cobra Kai,” which follows Daniel and his bully Johnny (William Zabka) decades after the first film. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
