BAGUIO CITY — Officials in this famous mountain hideaway led by returning Rep. Mauricio Domogan, reelected Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan are set to take their oath on Monday, hours before they assume their respective offices.
Mayor Magalong, who vowed to implement his administration’s 7-point agenda, will take his oath at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center. City Budget Officer Leticia Clemente, who heads the transition committee, said the program is expected to be a solemn and meaningful one.
Other incoming officials to be inducted are returning Councilors Edison Bilog and Josel Alangsab; incumbent Councilors Jose Molintas, Leandro Yangot Jr., Vladimir Cayabas, Peter Fianza, Fred Bagbagen, Betty Lourdes Yabanda and Elmer Datuin; and newcomers Van Oliver Dicang, Paolo Raynor Salvosa and Yuri Weygan.
The new set of officials will be officially welcomed in a special program during the flag-raising ceremony on July 7.
They will embark on an Executive-Legislative Agenda planning session soon to set the city’s development directions for the next three years.

On June 16, the city held a special tribute for outgoing officials, honoring their accomplishments and contributions to the city’s development.
Magalong vowed to pursue his administration’s seven-point core agenda to achieve sustainability, innovation and resilience and make the city livable, inclusive and creative.
The seven-point agenda are Environment, land use and energy; Climate and Disaster Resilience; Urban Regeneration; Empowering the Youth; Economic Recovery and Development; Smart City Management; and Good Governance.
With these agenda, the mayor aims to address problems on urban decay, the serious effects of climate change and all forms of corruption.
“We will continue working for a sustainable and resilient Baguio City with all programs and projects already started and we continue advocating for good governance and a corruption-free Baguio whose leaders do not lead by greed but with honor,” Magalong said.
