President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday met the cast and crew of the film ''The Last Resort," which stars Daisy Ridley and Alden Ehrenreich.
During the courtesy call at the Malacañang Palace, the crew and cast showed few short clips of the movie to the President, who expressed his appreciation to the filmmakers for showcasing the Philippines and contributing to the promotion of the country's tourism as well as film industries.
''I am so happy that now that you are in fact here and the work has started and it's all terribly exciting for all of us and thank you for coming to the Philippines... hopefully helping us project the Philippines out into the world, the way Filipinos see our own country and it's a country we're very, very proud of,'' Marcos said.
The romantic comedy film is backed by business magnate Manuel Pangilinan as executive producer, along with producers Ernesto "Bong" Sta. Maria Jr. and Raja Collins.
Earlier reports said the movie follows a hotel executive sent to scout a new resort location in the Philippines. She will soon meet Ben, a charming expatriate charter pilot.
