Miss Charm Philippines 2025 Cyrille Payumo took to social media to address comments about her body, opening up about her battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
On Instagram, the beauty queen shared a recent photo of herself, attaching body shaming comments directed at her.
“For the past five months, I’ve been navigating the challenges of PCOS — and I want you to know, it hasn’t been an easy journey. As a woman experiencing this firsthand, my heart goes out to anyone silently fighting the same battle. What we truly need is not judgment but understanding, empathy, and support,” Cyrille wrote in the caption.
She revealed that she has experienced significant changes in her body, particularly weight gain, which she attributes to the medication she takes daily for her condition.
PCOS is a condition among women caused by hyperinsulinemia, or having more insulin in the blood than usual. Aside from weight gain, its symptoms include acne breakouts, irregular periods, and hair growth in unwanted body areas.
According to a "Pinoy MD" episode, a balanced diet and consistent physical activity are necessary to manage PCOS symptoms.
“But you know what? That’s okay. I’ve made the conscious choice to prioritize my health, because healing — not perfection — is what truly matters. Through this, I’ve learned that real confidence begins from within,” she said.Cyrille continued, “BODY SHAMING has no place in our community. I will not tolerate it and neither should anyone else. It’s time we all stand together against it.”
She passionately advocated for building a community that uplifts one another, shares personal journeys with kindness, and consistently chooses compassion over criticism.
Cyrille competed in Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and was crowned Miss Charm Philippines.
