Trigger warning: This article mentions rape and sexual assault

Iza Calzado guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Tuesday where she was asked what her biggest fear is if her daughter, Deia Amihan, enters the entertainment industry one day.

According to the "Encantadia" actress, there are a lot of possibilities that can happen, but one of the things she fears is for Deia to get taken advantage of.

"Ang dami kasing posibilidad, puwedeng let's say hindi dito sa Pilipinas, wala ang proteksyon ko. Puwedeng, I mean, power. I mean, sexual assault, 'yung all these things 'di ba," she said.

"You think about these things, rape, somebody taking advantage of her, somebody powerful. These are all possibilities, or her getting so lost in the lifestyle."

She noted, however, that she doesn't think about these things too much "because I cannot stop life from happening for her. Not just to her, life happens for us, for a reason, to develop us."

She added that her prayer for Deia is for her to be strong so she can overcome whatever she has to face in life, and to live with a "lightness of being" that Iza got from her dad, Lito.

"My prayer is for God to keep her strong, for her to be resilient so that whatever happens in life, whatever, wherever life takes her, babangon at babangon siya kasi hindi natin po mapipigilan ang kung ano man, ang baraha, ang pag-ikot ng mundo," she shared.

"And my prayer is that she does things with a lightness of being that I got from my father and that I have inside me. Despite the struggles, have that lightness of being."

During her interview, Iza also opened up about the death of her mother, Mary Ann Ussher, in 2001.

Iza and Ben Wintle tied the knot in 2018. She announced her pregnancy in 2022 on her 40th birthday, and announced Deia's birth in March 2023.
