MANILA, Philippines — A frontal system is currently affecting the northern portion of Luzon, bringing rainy conditions to the mainland Cagayan, Isabela and Apayao areas.
The northeasterly wind flow is causing cloudy skies and moderate to heavy rainfall over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. However, this weather condition is not expected to cause significant impacts in these areas.
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the easterlies from the Pacific Ocean continue to influence the weather. The temperature is expected to remain hot and humid throughout the day, with a chance of heavy rainfall in the afternoon and evening, particularly during thunderstorms. Residents are advised to be prepared for sudden weather changes and bring umbrellas when heading out.
There are currently no low-pressure areas or typhoons that may affect the country. The frontal system is expected to continue impacting the northern parts of Luzon, including Cagayan and Apayao, with more heavy thunderstorms anticipated tomorrow.
Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will also experience similar weather conditions due to the northeasterly wind flow.
Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon will be generally clear and hot in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of heavy rainfall brought by the easterlies.
Temperatures in Metro Manila are expected to range from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius, while Baguio City will see temperatures between 17 to 26 degrees. Tagaytay will have a slightly warmer range of 23 to 32 degrees Celsius.
In the southern regions, temperatures will peak at around 33 degrees Celsius in Zamboanga and Davao.
No gale warning is in effect, but moderate to rough sea conditions are expected in parts of Northern Luzon. Other areas will experience moderate sea conditions, with waves ranging from 0.6 to 3.5 meters.
