Italian and Filipino flavors shine with Venchi's recent collab with M Dining + Bar M.

An imaginative pairing of Venchi with traditional Filipino meals, for different times of the day, sounds like it would be a showcase for exciting chocolate collaborations. But when that happened as Venchi worked with M Dining + Bar M at a recent afternoon event, the big surprise was that it was Venchi brand ambassador G. B. Mantelli who made a big and lasting impression with the chocolates he helped create. A more effective, convincing, and charming brand ambassador would be hard to find. It also helps that Giovanni Battista is a direct descendant of Venchi founder Silviano Venchi.

G. B. Mantelli is the keeper of the traditional Venchi recipes, such as their Cremino and their Giandiuotto. Mantelli personally had a hand in developing their iconic Chocoviars. He makes it a point to do the research and personally spend a lot of time in the country where he’ll be presenting. In Indonesia, he introduced himself in Bahasa. And he was super-cute during the Manila stopover, talking of kutsinta and puto. Plus hoping we were all full by the end of the event.

Since its founding in 1878, there’s a lot of history to the Italian chocolate brand. It has seen an impressive success in travel retail over the last four years. For most airports, the presence of the now familiar Venchi logo and their impressive gelato counter is a status symbol for the airport's retail offerings. We can be happy that the Philippine distributor Good Eats has created several Venchi stores within the Metropolis, and continues to grow the brand while expanding the possibilities of how to indulge in this quality chocolate.
