Bianca Gonzalez is honored to deliver a speech at this year’s World Health Day celebration, hosted by the World Health Organization Western Pacific, where she talked about the critical importance of maternal and newborn care.

Bianca Gonzalez is one of the best hosts in the Philippines. She has been under my wing since she was a young artist at Backroom, my first PR and talent management company. I am proud of her achievements both in her career and in her personal life. Our relationship has deepened over the years. She has become family to me now. I am “Ninong Boy” to her and husband JC Intal. The couple recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. They are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Lucia and Carmen.

From being a fledgling artist, Bianca has soared to greater heights and transformed into a sought-after host on TV and in various events. She is reprising her hosting duties for “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” after Kuya (Big Brother) once again opened his doors to new housemates, composed of artists from ABS-CBN Star Magic and Sparkle GMA Artist Center.

Bianca was excited talking about “PBB” during her first guesting on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” She revealed, “Matagal ko nang alam actually, Tito Boy. Last year, medyo pinag-uusap-usapan na pero siyempre di namin pwedeng sabihin. Ako, ang unang-una talagang inisip ko, ‘Pwede ba iyon? Posible ba iyon?’ Kasi for the longest time, ito ang ABS-CBN, ito ang GMA, so para sabihin na ang ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ magko-collab sa GMA, pwede ba kaming umere doon?”

Bianca has been hosting “PBB” for 19 years now. She considers “pakikisama” as the most significant life lesson she learned not only as a host but also as a former housemate. She was part of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition” 1 and emerged as third placer during the “Big Night” in 2006.

Who would have thought she had doubts about entering “PBB” as a housemate? Bianca was crying during the final interview with the bosses. She recalled during our conversation, “Sabi ko, ayaw ko po talaga maging housemate. Umiiyak ako kasi introvert ako tapos sobra akong mahiyain. Private ako na tao.”

There were twists and turns during her stint as a boarder ni Kuya but it changed her life professionally and personally for the better.

As a former insider, Bianca explained why housemates behave the way they do in an artificial environment. They have different personalities, while living in one house for a given period of time with no calendar, clock, gadgets or television to tell them what’s happening in the outside world. They could totally lose their sense of being public and forgot that viewers are watching them. “Ang nangyayari sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya dahil kayu-kayo lang, iyon ang nagiging mundo mo. Parang na-a-alter iyong realidad mo na ito na iyong mundo mo, so medyo parang ‘nakakalimutan’ for that moment iyong nasa labas.”

With fellow 'Pinoy Big Brother' hosts Enchong Dee, Gabbi Garcia and Mavy Legaspi.

Viewers of the long-running reality program have seen many housemates fall in love, fight and become close friends.

“Sa outside world, ‘pag may pinagdadaanan tayo, pwede tayong umalis, tumakbo. Pwede tayong maglabas ng saloobin sa iba. Pero sa loob ng bahay, wala. Kailangan mo talagang i-confront iyong nararamdaman mo. Wala kang choice kaya minsan pipitik. Tapos mas madaling ma-inlove kasi mula pagkagising sa umaga hanggang pagtulog sa gabi iyon ang nakikita mong tao. Madali ding maging close bilang best friends,” she said.

The “teleserye ng totoong buhay” proves that a collaboration between Kapuso and Kapamilya is possible. I can’t wait to see what events will transpire among the housemates inside the Bahay ni Kuya in the coming days.
