Barbie Forteza is among those who have started running more this year.
In an interview with GMA News Online during GMA Network’s Thanksgiving party on Wednesday evening, the Kapuso Primetime Princess shared her enthusiasm for running, encouraging more people to give it a try.
For the Sparkle star, one of the most important things to remember before getting into running is to have the desire to do it.
“You really have to want it kasi masaya siya ‘pag gusto mo siyang gawin, ‘di ba? Pero kung napipilitan ka lang, medyo mabigat siya sa pakiramdam, so make sure you really want to do it,” Barbie said.
Barbie highlighted that running also gives a sense of escape.
“It’s so fun talaga. Masaya po talagang tumakbo. Sana ma-encourage po kayong tumakbo kasi masaya siya. Parang, you get to forget your problems, or you get to escape reality for a while, ‘di ba? Kasi ang goal mo talaga, matapos ‘yung takbo mo, ‘di ba?” she said.

Aside from these mental and emotional benefits, Barbie reminded that it is a must to take care of our bodies when running.
“Do not forget to hydrate when you run. Very important ‘yan. And natutunan ko, dapat kumpleto ang tulog,” she said.
Barbie was a standout at the Kapuso network’s Thanksgiving event in Makati Shangri-La where she was given the Kapuso Female Heartthrob award.
Barbie recently starred as Adelina dela Cruz in “Pulang Araw.”
She also has exciting upcoming projects, including “Kontrabida Academy” with Eugene Domingo, “P77” with Euwenn Mikaell and Gina Pareño, and a project with Direk Mark Reyes.
