Three people were killed in a Friday afternoon ambush along Maharlika Highway, Barangay Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan.
The police said the target of the gunmen was Brian Villaflor, 27 and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, San Ildefonso. Also killed were his girlfriend and security aid, whose identities were not made public by the police at post time.
In a telephone interview with Rep. Lorna Silverio of the 3rd District of Bulacan, the lawmaker confirmed that Villaflor is currently the information technology specialist and social media operator of her son Victor Silverio, who is a candidate for congressman in their district.
Based on the report received by Silverio, the three victims were on board a black Ford Everest (SUV) heading to SM Baliwag to go shopping when they were fired upon by gunmen from a Toyota Rav4 and a Mitsubishi Montero at around 3:15 Friday afternoon.
The suspects, armed with M-16 rifles, opened fire at the victims' vehicle, causing it to lose control and crash into a tricycle and a mini store.

Villaflor and his security aid died on the spot while the girlfriend was rushed to the nearest hospital but was pronounced dead while under treatment.
The suspects fled in an unknown direction after the incident.
According to the police report, the victim's vehicle received more than 50 bullets.
