MANILA, Philippines – P-pop group PLUUS celebrated the victory of their member, JL Gaspar, in Kpop survival show Universe League as he will debut as part of the nine-member global boy group AHOF (All-Time Hall Of Famer).

PLUUS members YEN, JUSTIN, GAB, and HARO posted a video on Saturday, January 25, to applaud JL, who is part of winning squad Team Rhythm, mentored by WayV’s Ten and Yangyang.

“Congrats to our brother JL,” PLUUS members said in unison.

“Of course, we’re really happy for you, because we know you definitely worked hard for it,” YEN said in Filipino.

The only Filipino who qualified to join Universe League, JL garnered the most votes in the finals with 3,168,841 to make it into the global group.

A total of 12,743,374 votes were cast from over 200 countries.

“We know that you can do it since the beginning, so congratulations on everything you have achieved,” HARO said.

“Remember that we’re always here supporting you and we’re ultimately proud of you,” GAB said.

“We wish you all good things and good luck with your future activities,” JUSTIN said.

Members of groups formed in Kpop idol survival shows would normally have to pause their activities related to their work prior to getting into the group. PLUUS seemed to take note of this in their X post.

“JL, nangyari na ‘yung malaking pangarap mo. Magkasama man o hindi tayong magpapatuloy sa mga buhay natin, salamat dahil nakilala ka namin. See you soon!!,” the group said.

(JL, you achieved your big dream. Whether we continue in our lives together or not, we’re grateful that we knew you. See you soon!)

AHOF includes Steven from Australia, Chih En from Taiwan, Zhang Shuaibo from China, Daisuke from Japan, and Park Juwon and Seo Jeong-woo from Korea — all of whom are from Team Rhythm— alongside Cha Woongki (Team Beat) and Park Han (Team Groove) from Korea.

Universe League is the male counterpart of SBS’ Universe Ticket survival show, which featured Filipinas Elisia Parmisano and Gehlee Dangca and Filipina-Korean Jin Hyeon-ju, who were selected to be members of the K-pop girl group UNIS.

Universe League, which ran for 10 episodes, consisted of missions that showcased each contestant’s performing abilities as they vied for a spot in AHOF.

Fans praised PLUUS for staying supportive of JL even as he embarks on a new career move.
