WATCH: Pangilinan secures Cebu governor’s support days before election day

Senatorial candidate Kiko Pangilinan has only a few days to make the most out of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia’s endorsement

CEBU, Philippines – Senatorial candidate Kiko Pangilinan on Wednesday thanked Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for what he called a “surprise” endorsement ahead of the May 13 elections.

Pangilinan revealed the endorsement during his miting de avance in Cebu City, which was attended by Garcia’s brother, Cebu 3rd District Representative Pablo John Garcia, who also endorsed the candidate.

According to Pangilinan, the governor endorsed him during a private meeting with local officials in Consolacion town on Tuesday evening, May 6.

With the campaign period nearing its close, Pangilinan has only a few days left to maximize the backing of Garcia, one of the most influential figures in a province with more than 3.4 million registered voters.
