"The Substance," the body horror film that earned Demi Moore her first-ever acting award, is screening in the University of the Philippines Film Institute's (UPFI) Film Center until January 30.
The film center offered additional slots to its current playdates following sold-out screenings, with first full shows at 11 a.m. now available.
Screening Schedule
- January 28 - 11 a.m.
- January 29 - 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- January 30 - 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Tickets are priced at P200 (regular) and P150 (students, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and government employees with ID). These may be purchased at the cinema entrance an hour before screening.
The screening of "The Substance" is held in the Videotheque, Ishmael Bernal Gallery, on the second floor of UPFI Film Center
"The Substance," directed by Coralie Fargeat, received five nominations at the 97th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Demi, Best Director for Coralie, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Early this month, Demi bagged her first acting award, taking home the trophy for Best Female Actor - Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy for the film at the Golden Globes.
In "The Substance," she plays the role of Elisabeth Sparkle, an aging celebrity. She takes a substance to make herself youthful after her boss (Dennis Quaid) terminates her from her aerobics show.
The movie also stars Margaret Qualley, Hugo Diego Garcia, Gore Abrams, and Oscar Lesage, among others.
