A group of friends took to social media to share snaps from their "Mt. Kamuning" climb.

Albert Labrador shared the photos on Facebook, where his group could be seen posing at the "summit" of the 30-foot-high footbridge in Kamuning near the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.

The group conquered the climb wearing complete hiking gear and also brought with them a Philippine flag.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Albert said that he first climbed "Mt. Kamuning" in 2019 with his friends, Greg Aglipay and Bong Manayon.

"Mt. Kamuning was new then and the idea was it would be a great April Fools' post to climb it in full mountaineering gear. It was a statement about how high and steep the structure was and people were already calling it Mt. Kamuning before we climbed it in 2019," he said.

After six years, they did the climb again and invited more people to join.

"We agreed to do it again upon Greg's suggestion and Greg invited Gregg Yan. I invited my friends from the UP Mountaineers," Albert said. "Back in 2019 some people took it as a political statement. We did it because it was a hilarious thing to do. As they say about Mt. Everest: 'Because [it's] there.'"

Just like the original climb, the 2025 version was an April Fools' gag.

"There's too much crap happening in the world today. Comedy always helps," he said. "If the post on FB made you laugh or smile, then we've done our bit."
