Tony Labrusca wants audiences to know that he is more than just a hunk. He has stories to tell and he is equally eager to show what more he can offer as an actor. At 29, Tony has matured mentally yet his character remains the same.
When Tony Labrusca entered showbiz nine years ago, he never expected that his toned physique would lead him to become one of the sexiest young actors in local Tinseltown.
Tony knows his sexy image is what initially comes to mind every time one mentions his name.
“Yes and no,” began Tony when I asked if he’s comfortable being tagged as one of the sexiest male celebrities. “Because I feel like they’re always expecting that I am going to take off my clothes or there’s a sexy angle which can be good, masaya rin naman and there’s nothing wrong with people thinking you’re sexy pero minsan kasi ang hirap kasi gusto ko din ng ibang image. So, ang hirap kumalas.”
The actor emphasized he is more than just a hunk. He has stories to tell and he is equally eager to show what more he can offer as an actor. At 29, Tony has matured mentally yet his character remains the same.
“I feel that I am still a young boy, na-keep ko ‘yung boyish qualities ko, which I think is my strength, honestly. I don’t take things too seriously,” said Tony whose curiosity to learn new things proves essential to his craft.
“Pero ‘yung mga nabago, I think ngayon mas mature ako mentally, in terms of handling problems and dealing with people.
“I’ve been in this industry for eight years (now) and I think when I started, I was just a kid. So now that I’m 29, parang I’m looking at life through a different lens.”

Tony initially caught public attention in 2016 through a television commercial for the popular fastfood chain. That same year, he joined the reality singing search to be part of a Filipino boyband but unfortunately, Lady Luck was not on his side. He then entered the acting scene a year later and tackled roles that mostly required him to show some skin and do intimate scenes.
Meanwhile, Tony is beginning a new chapter in his acting career with GMA Network. He is in the cast of the GMA Afternoon Prime series “Binibining Marikit” as one of the two leading men of Herlene Budol.
“As a new Kapuso leading man, I promise to give you guys exactly what you want,” said the actor who revealed that he had wanted to work with Herlene even before his transfer to GMA.
“Gusto ko talagang makatrabaho si Herlene actually. And this kind of show, I prayed for this. I just didn’t expect that I was going to do this kind of show on GMA. This is the first time that I’m gonna work with Herlene and get to know her.
“There is something in her energy that I feel she’s happy to be with. Totoong siyang tao. And now I can say that she’s exactly the way that I imagined her. Herlene is lovely, inside and out,” he stated.
Tony added that he enjoys working with her, especially because of her positive attitude and genuine personality. “She puts everybody in such a good mood. One of my favorite features in Herlene is her lips. She’s got beautiful lips. At saka napaka-expressive ng mata ni Herlene.”
Asked to describe himself in one word, Tony replied with a smile, “Grateful.”
