ILOILO CITY — Authorities arrested a high-profile fugitive linked to a communist terrorist group (CTG) in Western Visayas during an operation in Iloilo on Friday.
Joint operatives of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) and military units apprehended the suspect, a 66-year-old former CTG member identified only as “Dario,” in Barangay Dawog in Miagao.
The suspect, a resident of Tubungan, Iloilo, is the third most wanted person in Western Visayas.
He is also listed among the Department of the Interior and Local Government and Department of National Defense’s most wanted CTG personalities, according to the PRO-6.
A P550,000 reward was offered for his capture in connection with a robbery case that resulted in serious physical injury.

The arrest was carried out through multiple warrants issued by a court in Guimbal, Iloilo, including robbery with serious physical injury with a bail of P180,000 issued on Sept. 16, 2019; attempted murder with a bail of P120,000 and frustrated murder with a bail of P200,000, both issued on June 3, 2015.
PRO-6 director BGen. Josefino Ligan said Dario’s arrest is a warning to others who continue to hide that law enforcement agencies will not relent in pursuing them.
“We will continue to pursue and bring to justice those who disrupt peace and security in our communities,” said Ligan.
