MANILA, Philippines — Despite the ongoing impeachment proceedings against her, Vice President Sara Duterte was able to maintain a majority satisfaction rating in the latest survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The survey, conducted from March 24 to 31, showed that 54 percent of the respondents were satisfied with the performance of the Vice President, similar to the poll conducted in November 2025.

Twenty-five percent were dissatisfied with Duterte, almost similar to the 26 percent in the previous poll, while undecided respondents increased from 18 percent to 21 percent.

The latest survey resulted in a net satisfaction rating of “moderate” +29, one point above the “moderate” +28 that Duterte obtained in November 2025.

The net satisfaction rating is obtained by subtracting those who said they were satisfied from those who were dissatisfied with the performance of the government official.

The SWS survey classifies net satisfaction ratings of at least +70 as “excellent”; +50 to +69 as “very good”; +30 to +49 as “good”; +10 to +29 as “moderate”; +9 to -9 as “neutral”; -10 to -29 as “poor”; -30 to -49 as “bad”; -50 to -69 as “very bad”; and -70 and below as “execrable.”

Although Duterte was able to maintain a positive net satisfaction rating, it was already significantly down from her record-high “excellent” +77 in December 2022.

Still, she is still faring better than President Marcos, who saw his net satisfaction rating plunge to his personal record-low “poor” -15 (33 percent satisfied, 49 percent dissatisfied, rounded off) in the latest SWS survey.

Duterte is currently facing an impeachment trial over alleged misuse of confidential funds, unexplained wealth and her supposed threats against the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and former speaker Martin Romualdez.

Leni catching up

Meanwhile, in a survey conducted by Pulse Asia, Duterte remains the most preferred candidate for president in 2028. Although her predecessor and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo is slowly closing the gap.

The May 3 to 7 poll, commissioned by the Stratbase Group, found that 51 percent of the respondents prefer Duterte in a one-on-one hypothetical matchup with Robredo.

Forty-one percent said they would vote for Robredo, while eight percent were either undecided or said they would neither support the two personalities.

Based on the survey, Duterte has maintained support in her bailiwick Mindanao with 91 percent.

Robredo, meanwhile, chipped away support from the Vice President in Metro Manila, where she received 46 percent, close to Duterte’s 48 percent.

The Naga City mayor also had majority support in the rest of Luzon with 55 percent (against Duterte’s 33 percent), while the Vice President leads in the Visayas with 50 percent (against Robredo’s 46 percent).
