MANILA, Philippines — The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has extended the discounted fees for the registration of securities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) until the end of the year to encourage them to raise funds through the capital market.
The effectivity of the 50 percent discount given to MSMEs for the registration of securities has been extended until Dec. 31, 2026.
Covered is the registration of securities by corporations for the purpose of public offering, including those registered through the SEC’s streamlined processes for power generation and distribution utility companies, real estate developers and/or managers in relation to rental pool deals, agri-business firms and hospitals.
The SEC said the discounted rate for registration of securities runs alongside the 20 percent discount granted to MSMEs formalizing their corporate registration.
In addition, MSMEs that increased their authorized capital stock through amendments of their articles of incorporation were able to benefit from a 25 percent discount on filing fees.
