Fresh from his big win at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival, Ruru Madrid is opening the year with his return to "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan."
The Primetime Action Hero will reprise his titular role Lolong in the new season of the series, this time teeming with bigger action scenes and even more compelling drama.
Set to make a comeback with Madrid are the well-loved characters of Shaira Diaz, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Mikoy Morales, Alma Concepcion, Maui Taylor and Jean Garcia.
Joining Lolong in his new journey are John Arcilla, Rocco Nacino, Martin del Rosario, Klea Pineda and Tetchie Agbayani.
Produced by GMA Public Affairs, the first season of Lolong became one of 2022's most-watched television series. It was hailed as "Best Primetime Serye" at the 2022 Gawad Pilipino Icon of the Year and was the Philippines' National Winner for Best Visual/Special Effects at the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards.

As it makes a comeback on television, Lolong (Madrid) dreams of a world where everyone is equal, regardless of their differences. But just as the people's hero begins to live in peace with his fellow Atubaw, tragedy strikes on his wedding day. To save his beloved Elsie (Diaz) and his people, Lolong must embark on a perilous quest to recover the legendary Ubtao, a gem with miraculous powers.

A crocodile-themed action-adventure drama series, "Lolong" centers on a man's extraordinary friendship with a giant crocodile named Dakila. In "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan," viewers can look forward to Lolong's journey in facing new challenges and unanticipated twists after he successfully united the people of Tumahan with the mysterious Atubaws.
Co-directing "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" are King Mark Baco and Rommel Penesa, whose combined talents give a more cinematic feel to this season's offering.
