Rappler Talk: Mags Maglana on opposing a Duterte in Davao City

What are Maglana's plan to win the hearts of fellow Davaoeños? How will she sell her pro-people platforms to voters who have historically chosen members of political families?

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – In the midst of warring political dynasties in Davao City, there are alternative candidates who present platforms-based campaign that aim to address issues that hound their city.

Among them is prominent nongovernment worker Mags Maglana, who’s running again for the 1st District of Davao City — a rematch with incumbent congressman Paolo Duterte, who defeated her in 2022.

Apart from Duterte, Maglana also faces lawmaker Migs Nograles Almario in the congressional race.

What are Maglana’s plan to win the hearts of fellow Davaoeños? How will she sell her pro-people platforms to voters who have historically chosen members of political families?
