MANILA, Philippines — More than 5.1 million Filipinos have applied to vote in this year’s barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections as the voter registration closed on Monday, according to the Commission on Elections.

The Comelec said a total of 5,142,336 voter registration applications were processed nationwide from Oct. 20, 2025 to May 16, covering all regions and field offices across the country.

Of the applicants, 2,655,147 are women.

The figure reflected a 100-percent submission rate from all regional offices and field teams involved in the voter registration process ahead of the conduct of the twin elections on Nov. 2.

Among the registration categories, applications involving transfers from other cities or municipalities accounted for 1,324,232 transactions, while the new voter registration reached 1,328,613.

Applications for reactivation of voter records was at 319,783, indicating that many deactivated voters now want to restore their voting status before the elections.

Among regions, Calabarzon posted the highest number of applications with 838,520 followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 562,879 and Central Luzon with 574,223.

Calabarzon also recorded some of the largest figures such as in new registration and voter transfer categories.

In the NCR, applications for transfer of voter records reached 172,919, reflecting continued population mobility within urban centers.

Meanwhile, the Cordilleras registered the lowest number of registrants with 70,390 applications.

The Comelec said the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao recorded 160,352 applications, noting the registration in the BARMM ended early, on March 31.
