ANGELES CITY — The 1,552 employees of the city government of Angeles have received their midyear bonuses on May 15.
The city's Human Resources Management Office reported that 1,200 permanent, 337 casual and 15 contractual employees have received their bonuses with a total allocation of P38,400,274.50 from the city's general fund.
Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said that P33,947,712.92 were given to regular employees, P3,802,878.58 to casual employees and P649,683.00 to contractual employees
Lazatin said the prompt release of the midyear bonus is part of the city government's commitment to ensure the welfare and morale of its personnel.
"Karapat-dapat lamang na pasalamatan at bigyang insentibo ang ating mga lingkod-bayan na walang sawang nagliling-kod sa mga Angeleño. Ang bonus na ito ay pagkilala sa kanilang sipag at dedikasyon (It is fitting to thank and give incen-tive to our public servants who tirelessly serve the people of Angeles City. This bonus is a recognition of their hard work and dedication)," Mayor Lazatin said.

This initiative reflects one of Lazatin's key priorities, that is, to promote employee welfare, and a more motivated, efficient and productive city workforce.
Flordeliza Santos, president of the Angeles City Employees for a New and Dynamic Angeles, expressed her gratitude to the mayor.
"Sa ngalan po ng mga kawani ng Angeles City Hall, we would like to thank Mayor Lazatin for always ensuring the timely release of the midyear bonus. Ramdam po namin ang malasakit at pagmamahal ni mayor hindi lamang po sa siyudad kung di pati sa mga empleyado (On behalf of the staff of Angeles City Hall, we would like to thank Mayor Lazatin for always en-suring the timely release of the midyear bonus. We feel the mayor's concern and love not only for the city but also for the employees)," Santos said.
