CEBU CITY — The electoral pattern in Bohol in the 2025 midterm polls showed that voters in the province favored candidates linked to former president Rodrigo Duterte's political camp, a trend that mirrors the results in Cebu province.
Leading the pack in Bohol is Bong Go of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) with 578,386 votes, followed by Ronald Dela Rosa, also from PDP-Laban, with 533,854 votes.
Other Duterte-endorsed candidates such as Jimmy Bondoc and Phillip Salvador also received strong support, tallying 321,246 and 289,221 votes, respectively.
Independent candidate Rodante Marcoleta, who is allied with Duterte's political camp, placed fourth with 311,969 votes, while Camille Villar, endorsed by Vice President Sara Duterte but running for the Nacionalista Party, ranked fifth with 297,897 votes.
Also making the list in Bohol are Duterte candidates Raul Lambino (258,467 votes), Jayvee Hinlo (248,755 votes) and Vic Rodriguez (224,052 votes).

Bam Aquino of the Kilusang Nasyonalista para sa Bayan, meanwhile, followed closely with 216,243 votes, while Erwin Tulfo of Lakas received 197,053 votes.
Sen. Pia Cayetano of the Nacionalista Party rounded out the top 12 with 177,710 votes.
This voting behavior in Bohol reflects a similar pattern in Cebu, where Duterte-backed senatorial bets continue to domi-nate.
As of May 15, 11:07 a.m., the Commission on Elections partial results show Go leading in Cebu with 1,817,038 votes, fol-lowed by Dela Rosa at 1,605,897 votes.
Bondoc garnered 995,729 votes, while Marcoleta and Villar earned 921,246 and 907,574 votes, respec-tively.
Other candidates from the PDP-Laban slate such as Salvador (886,875 votes), Lambino (841,880 votes) and Hinlo (786,412 votes) also performed well in Cebu.
Additionally, Tulfo secured 766,847 votes and independent Rodriguez got 681,638 votes. Cayetano was close behind with 670,577 votes, rounding out the top 12 in Cebu.
While not all of these candidates officially belong to PDP-Laban, many, including Marcoleta and Rodriguez, are en-dorsed by Duterte and considered part of his broader political coalition called "Duter10."
The strong showings of these candidates in both provinces highlight the enduring influence of Duterte's political camp in the Visayas region.
Vice President Duterte's active campaign in Cebu, where she traces her roots, has energized local supporters and likely contributed to the high vote counts for candidates she endorses, including Villar and Marcos.
Overall, Go led the senatorial race with over 26 million votes, followed by Aquino and Dela Rosa with more than 20 mil-lion votes each.
The other candidates in the top 12, who were slated to be proclaimed as senators on Saturday afternoon, include Tulfo, Francis Pangilinan, Rodante Marcoleta, Panfilo Lacson, Vicente Sotto III, Pia Cayetano, Villar, Lito Lapid and Imee Marcos.
Bohol and Cebu are the only remaining two provinces in Central Visayas after Negros Oriental and Si-quijor departed to join the newly formed Negros Island Region.
