Concert royalty Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez are set to bring their enduring magic back on stage with "Always & Forever," a show that promises a nostalgic trip to the '80s while presenting their iconic music and story in an entirely new way.
For fans of the era, the show is a chance to relive the golden hits of a generation. But the Concert King and Queen are going beyond simple nostalgia, reimagining their repertoire with fresh arrangements and a revitalized approach.
"I have been studying," Pops revealed during a recent media conference. "We made it a point that, even though you hear a lot of familiar songs from our era, the arrangements are completely fresh and new." She shared how much effort she's pouring into preparing for the show: "I've been locking myself in my room, really trying to concentrate and studying all the songs that we are preparing for 'Always & Forever'."
Excitement radiates from Pops as she discusses the production. "Usually, when Martin and I do shows, it's bits and pieces from our past shows. But this time, it's a brand-new show," she said. "The other day, we even had a whole day of shooting for the video support of this concert, so it's really exciting."
Martin echoed Pops' sentiments, expressing equal enthusiasm for the concert. "Yes, we are very excited," he said. Highlighting the partnership that has long captivated audiences, he added, "I've been studying, but almost all the harmonies will come from Pops, so we need an expert."

At the heart of "Always & Forever" is the music of the 1980s — an era both Martin and Pops hold dear. "With Pops and me onstage, they will also expect songs from our era, which is the '80s," Martin shared.
He then took a reflective tone as he connected the show's song choices with their personal story. "In our case, these are the songs that tell our stories from then until now, using the songs from that era, hopefully, the kind that you remember."
The pair's love for '80s music runs obviously runs deep with Martin confessing, "Music for me was the best from the '80s. Even the playlist that I am listening in the car, all '80s. I never moved on from the '80s. I'm still stuck there."
Beyond celebrating the music of a beloved decade, "Always & Forever" will chronicle the iconic duo's journey through their songs, offering fans an intimate and heartfelt performance. With brand-new arrangements, a fresh creative vision, and the undeniable chemistry of Martin and Pops, the concert is set to bring their timeless charm to life for both longtime supporters and new audiences.
The Concert King and Queen's highly-anticipated Valentine's concert unfolds on February 7 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Produced by Viva Live, DSL Productions, and Starmedia Entertainment, tickets are available via SM Tickets outlets.
