MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has vowed to leave “significant” and “tangible” changes in the lives of Filipinos before he steps down from office in 2028.
Marcos will mark the third year of his six-year term on June 30.
In another episode of the President’s podcast released yesterday, he was asked by News5 anchor Cheryl Cosim what he wants the people to remember about his presidency.
“We made a change for the better. This has been my guide in all the positions I’ve taken,” Marcos said.
“The worst thing that can happen is you assume your position, you serve and leave without any changes,” he said.
Marcos is currently conducting performance evaluation of his officials, saying those who failed to deliver should be removed from their posts.
“Look, even if you are my friend, I love you and all, but if you are not doing your job, it is not about friendship or our love for each other, but the service for the people,” Marcos said in another episode of his podcast on June 16.
