MANILA, Philippines — Makati has begun rolling out P356.48 million worth of midyear cash incentives for senior citizens through its Blu Card program.
According to the local government, 59,414 registered senior citizens in the city have begun receiving P6,000 in midyear incentives through their e-wallet accounts.
Those without an online account may receive their incentive starting June 3 at their designated payout centers.
The Blu Card program has been sending out incentives via the senior citizens’ e-wallet accounts since 2022.
Cash incentives will next be given in December.
“The city will continue to pursue ways to empower them so that they, too, can fully enjoy the convenience afforded by technology,” Makati Mayor Nancy Binay said in a statement on Friday.
“Our senior citizens have played an important role in the growth and progress of Makati. Through this cash incentive program, we hope to give back and provide meaningful support for their daily needs and well-being,” she added.
