After four long years, Lorde has released a new single titled "What Was That."

Released over the weekend, Lorde's new song explores the themes of nostalgia, heartbreak, and self-discovery. This marked her music comeback since her last album, "Solar Power," released in 2021.

She previously teased the song on social media with a portrait of herself in a red top and braided hair.

Lorde is best known for the hit songs "Royals," "Ribs," and "Supercut," among others.

Aside from "Solar Power," her other albums are "Pure Heroine" from 2013 and "Melodrama" from 2017.

In 2024, she was part of the remix of Charli xcx's song, "Girl, so confusing," and was a surprise guest during the latter's Coachella set.
