Lola Amour and Australian singer-songwriter Oliver Cronin joined forces for a new heartbreaking ballad titled “Maria.”
The slow song with a bold saxophone solo tells the story of being blindly in love with Maria, and being unaware of her betrayal.
In the official music video, the artists perform the song together backdropped by a scenic skyline.
The song was written at a music camp in Malaysia, and is part of the deluxe edition of Oliver’s EP “Edge of Paradise.”
“Working with the Lola Amour boys was an incredible experience. Their seven-piece dynamic brought something fresh and magical to ‘Maria,’ creating a perfect blend of our worlds,” Oliver said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Lola Amour will release new music and have more collaborations this 2025.
Lola Amour released their self-titled debut album in April 2024, and celebrated with a grand album launch at the Circuit Makati Event Grounds and a sold-out show at Draft Punk in Cebu.
The band also went on tour in support of the album from May to July.
Lola Amour is best known for the songs “Fallen,” “Maybe Maybe,” “Umiinit,” “Namimiss Ko Na,” and of course, “Raining in Manila.”
In late 2024, they participated in multiple songwriting camps. The one in Malaysia was with producer Hyuk Shin of 153 Joombas, where they refined their songwriting skills and explored new creative approaches. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
