Ben&Ben just released a new song, titled “Saranggola,” dedicated to their friendship.

In a series of Instagram posts, the folk group said the song is a reflection on their eight years as a band.

“[Gusto] lang namin i-share yung pagkakaibigan naming siyam. Hindi naging madali ang byahe namin, pero bagaman, gagawin namin ang lahat para sa isa’t isa at nariyan sa bawat pag subok at tagumpay,” Ben&Ben wrote on Instagram.

In another post, Ben&Ben said “Saranggola” is also about ending chapters.

“Dito sa bago naming kantang ‘Saranggola,’ ni-re-represent nito yung pagwakas ng chapter ng buhay natin, na minsan talaga, kailangang magpaalam at tumahak sa iba’t ibang landas,” the band said.

“Nais nitong ikwento yun, nang may malalim na pagpapasalamat,” they added.

The band also said they hope fans would also experience true friendship like the one they have.

“Saranggola” was previously teased in an episode of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition,” which featured the boys’ drinking session.

Ben&Ben’s latest album “The Traveller Across Dimensions” was released in November 2024. It includes the tracks, “Could Be Something,” “Comets,” and “Triumph.”

The band had a major concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in December 2024 in support of the album. The show featured Ben&Ben’s live music with filmmaking and multimedia elements to create an animation-concert hybrid.

Ben&Ben is part of the lineup of the Off Limits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi on April 26. Ed Sheeran, One Republic, and Kaiser Chiefs are also among the performers. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
