THE Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) hosted this year's meeting from March 4-7 at the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) Center in Seoul and the National Library of Korea in Sejong. Thirty-five Korean Cultural Center (KCC) directors and seven cultural promotion officials from around the world attended.
On March 4, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Yu In Chon chaired a joint workshop where participants shared insights on operating KCCs and promoting Korean culture globally.
The KCC in the Philippines was named the most outstanding last year for its efforts marking the 75th anniversary of Philippines-Korea relations. Initiatives included an interactive exhibit with the National Museum of Korea, a webtoon exhibit with the Korea Creative Content Agency, and a K-drama OST performance by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
