MANILA, Philippines — Miss Philippines Earth 2025 Joy Barcoma had another opportunity to take her symbolic farewell walk — this time on national television.

After being unable to perform the traditional final walk during the Miss Philippines Earth 2026 coronation night last Saturday, June 27, Joy took her final walk on GMA Network's "Unang Hirit," where the morning program gave her a platform to celebrate the conclusion of her reign.

The emotional moment quickly resonated with pageant fans online, many describing it as a well-deserved tribute to the outgoing queen.

Joy had earlier confirmed that she would not be taking part in the customary farewell walk at the pageant's coronation last Saturday in Bukidnon.

"Tonight, I may not have a farewell walk. But perhaps that is the greatest reminder that a legacy is never measured by the number of steps she takes on stage but by footprints she leaves in the lives of others," she wrote.

Although she missed the pageant tradition, Joy has since been honored with farewell moments outside the Miss Philippines Earth stage. She first received an emotional send-off during the Love Laban Pride PH Festival 2026 in Quezon City, where she walked before thousands of supporters wearing a white gown accented with a rainbow sash.

Her appearance on "Unang Hirit" marked yet another farewell, allowing viewers across the country to witness the closing chapter of her reign. Fans praised the program for recognizing Joy's contributions and giving her the national television moment many believed she deserved.
