'Philippines, you truly are sobrang Latina,' James of the English electro-pop duo tells the Wanderland 2025 crowd
MANILA, Philippines – There’s no doubt that James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck of the English electro-pop duo HONNE love the Philippines, because just over two months after they visited the country in January, they returned to headline Day 2 of Wanderland 2025 on March 23.
HONNE closed out the festival’s 10th edition at the Filinvest City Events Grounds in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. This festival isn’t new to them, as they had first shared their music on the Wanderland stage in its 2019 edition.
This time, they returned with even more music, and a grander show up their sleeves — complete with large stage props and backing vocalists, one of whom was Liang Lawrence, a rising recording artist herself.

Perhaps one of the most exciting things about HONNE’s set was the epic guitar solo that happened several songs into the whole performance. As soon as “Shrink” ended, Andy put down his mic momentarily and took over for James, who rushed backstage. He returned seconds later wearing a mascot head resembling Poco, the character from their 2024 OUCH album.

He proceeded to stage a theatrical cover of Blur’s “Song 2,” smoothly getting in all the necessary riffs and shreds that any Blur fan would recognize. Of course, Andy took care of all the “woo-hoos” in the song.

It was when he rolled around on the ground and got down on his knees that panned out to be the most iconic part of it all — with cheers erupting while it was happening.

Following this, Andy dedicated their performance of the 2016 song “Woman” to his wife. When people in a certain section of the crowd began cheering, it was made known to HONNE and the rest of the festival-goers that a proposal happened during the song — and the woman said yes!

But HONNE’s set was a celebration of love and companionship in all their forms. You didn’t have to be there with your special someone to enjoy their performance, as many festival goers had been with their friends and family members and still had the best time.

The English duo knew it, too, as James had even told the crowd, “Philippines, you truly are sobrang Latina.” – Rappler.com
