"Sunrise on the Reaping," the new novel in "The Hunger Games" book franchise by Suzanne Collins, has hit the shelves.
The fifth installment tells the origin story of Haymitch Abernathy, who is known to have mentored Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark at the 74th Hunger Games.
Set 24 years before the events of "The Hunger Games," it follows Haymitch as he's called to compete in the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
Lionsgate is already set to adapt "Sunrise on the Reaping" into a film.
"The Hunger Games" series is composed of three novels: "The Hunger Games" (2008), "Catching Fire" (2009), and "Mockingjay" (2010). In 2020, Collins released a prequel novel, "A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," which follows Coriolanus Snow.
All books have been adapted into film, with Jennifer Lawrence starring as Katniss, and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
