Huawei’s tri-fold smartphone, the HUAWEI Mate XT Ultimate Design, has officially gone global and will soon be available in the Philippines.
To recap, the HUAWEI Mate XT is the world’s first tri-folding phone, sporting two hinges.
It can be used as a single screen just like a normal smartphone at 6.4-inch. And it can unfold to 10.2-inch, essentially making it a tablet with a mere 3.6 mm thickness.
Under the hood, it uses an undisclosed Kirin SoC, and users can expect it is limited to 4G connectivity.
At the rear, the foldable features three cameras led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0) and OIS; a 12MP ultrawide lens; and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor, also with OIS.
Software-wise, it runs EMUI 14.2 and packs a 5600mAh battery combined with 66W of wired- and 50W of wireless charging.
For added protection, the foldable gets an IPX8 rating for water resistance.
