Huawei has once again taken innovation to the next level with its immersive Innovation Foldable Pop-up Store in Malaysia. From the outside, the setup exudes a futuristic vibe, standing out with its sleek and modern aesthetics that instantly catch the attention of passersby.

Walking into the pop-up, you’re welcomed into an extravagant, gold-accented display space that perfectly embodies Huawei’s philosophy of luxury and cutting-edge design. The interior is sleek, modern, and sophisticated—mirroring the aesthetic of the Huawei Mate XT, their latest flagship.

What You’ll See Inside

Inside the exhibition, Huawei showcases its latest lineup of devices. Among them are the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025, the Huawei Watch Ultimate, the Huawei Mate X6, and, of course, the star of the show—the Huawei Mate XT. The Mate XT is the world’s first-ever tri-fold smartphone, a revolutionary leap in mobile technology. Alongside the devices, visitors can also explore the materials used to craft the devices, offering a deeper appreciation of their engineering.

Durability Test

While the devices themselves are impressive, personally, the real showstopper of the pop-up experience is the durability test corner. Here, Huawei goes all out to prove the toughness of the Huawei Mate X6. The highlight? The Mate X6’s inner screen plate is suspended while a 150kg motorcycle hangs from it.

And as if that wasn’t enough, a concrete block is repeatedly slammed onto the device to emphasize its resilience. It’s a bold statement that Huawei’s foldables aren’t just about aesthetics but are built to last.

Camera Test

Of course, we couldn’t leave without testing the camera capabilities of the Huawei Mate XT. Taking a few shots, the results did not disappoint. The images delivered a wide dynamic range, superb color distribution, and true-to-life colors as if the photos were captured by the naked eye. It’s clear that Huawei has poured serious effort into its mobile photography game.

Pricing

While there are no official peso rates yet, here’s the pricing in euros:

  • Huawei Mate XT: €3,499 (~₱214,000)
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025: Starts at €1,049 (~₱64,000)
  • Huawei FreeArc: €119 (~₱7,300)
  • Huawei Band 10: TBA

Final Thoughts

The Huawei Innovation Foldable Pop-up Store delivers a good hands-on experience. The ability to interact with the devices, witness their durability firsthand, and test their cameras makes it an engaging exhibition for tech enthusiasts.

The only downside? The Huawei Band 10 was notably absent, which was a bit of a letdown, especially since it was also missing from the Product Experience Area Tour at Mitec, where Huawei launched its latest lineup.

Still, if you’re in Malaysia, this pop-up store is definitely worth visiting. It’s not every day you get to see a tri-fold smartphone in action—let alone a foldable device lifting a motorcycle.
