The HUAWEI FreeArc is making its global launch for February 18. This is a huge day for the company as it’s also when the HUAWEI Mate XT will be officially unveiled.
Going back though, the FreeArc is a pair of over-ear TWS earphones designed for sports enthusiasts. The company announced this offering via an X post which featured a short teaser.
Enjoy all-day comfort and secure fit with #HUAWEIFreeArc Open-ear Earbuds. Plus, with IP57 water resistance, you can power through rainy runs and sweaty workouts, while staying safe and open-eared to your surroundings. pic.twitter.com/Zr6tvSywJN

The teaser showed earphones made for a snug fit on all ears with an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance. This should make it valuable for outdoor activities and/or workouts.
From what netizens could gather, the offering features an earbud connected to a rubber strap wrapping around the ear. It also adopts a C-like structure similar to the FreeClip.
The buds are also said to be light, featuring a 17 x 12mm driver for bass. These are also slated to offer up to 28 hours of battery life on a single charge. Charging-wise, 10 minutes of being plugged in the case should get users 3 hours of playback.
The HUAWEI FreeArc is already available for pre-orders in Japan via crowdfunding, which is notable. It suggests that the company is making efforts to appear approachable to tech consumers loyal to their brand.
It’s currently priced at JPY 18,800 (~PHP 7,000), but we’ll have to wait until the launch event if this holds true. Listings online also indicate that colors available will be in Green, Black, and White.

Communication graduate, closet cynic, and kid at heart. Duane is a rare person to find, quite literally. He often takes to himself but has proven his mettle in tech media with his quick wits. Well, the portfolio of scriptwriting, web content, and public relations help too, we suppose. As a homebody, he often spends his time on the streaming platform Twitch or ‘farming’ gaming clips with friends. He is also an avid fan of round glasses and anything relative to blueberries.
