Those interested in a cost-efficient smart watch for tracking their fitness and general health should take a look at the HUAWEI Band 10, the latest addition to HUAWEI’s lineup of fitness bands.
In contrast to something like the HUAWEI Watch and Watch Fit series, the Band series has always been the more no-frills, just business fitness band from the brand.
This iteration offers a nice clean design, the latest health tracking features they could add into the smaller form-factor, and AI-powered workout insights. It also sports a new aluminum alloy case, customizable widgets, and improved sleep monitoring.
HUAWEI’s pretty much gives as much of a smartwatch-like experience as they can in the form factor of a fitness band.

Design and Build
The HUAWEI Band 10 gets a new aluminum alloy case, milled with CNC diamond-cut technology that gives the overall case a nice shimmery satin finish. Scoring it points for premium designing.
Our unit is in the flagship green colorway that gets a gray Titanium-alloy midframe, the side button accents the hero color, and we get a sporty open-hole strap for better sweat resistance.
It’s also available in a plethora of other colors, with the pink and black model’s cases being made out of reinforced polycarbonate materials.
At just 8.99mm thin and weighing 15g (watch body) or 14g (polymer case) depending on the case material, the Band 10 ensures a comfortable all-day wearing experience.
Changing out the strap is very easy as well, if ever users wanted to change the vibe. All they need to do is push the release buttons on each end of the band’s case from the rear.
Also found here at the bottom are the sensors for all the health and fitness tracking features.
Display
The HUAWEI Band 10 features a 1.47-inch AMOLED display that offers a sharp-looking interface with vibrant colors.
Our only nitpick with the display would be for its refresh rate. It seems to be running at 30Hz, and we know it isn’t the biggest deal but a higher refresh rate display could improve the overall user experience with smoother animations.
But of course, in terms of functionality, it really isn’t so much of an issue at all.
It’s worth noting that the Band 10 doesn’t feature an Always-On display, but again not the biggest deal for us.
Like almost any other HUAWEI smartwatch, we can choose from over 10,000 watch faces all available through the Huawei Health app. Additionally, customizable widgets within certain watch faces let users personalize shortcuts for quick access to key features from the Band 10.
Overall the Band 10’s display works as it should with no gripes from whether indoors or out in direct sunlight.
Health Monitoring
With the success of the health features found in products like the Watch GT 5, like we’ve mentioned earlier, HUAWEI has figured out a way to pack most of them into the Band 10’s more compact form factor.
A good example of this is Sleep Tracking.
Sleep tracking measurements from the Band 10 are now HRV-based, meaning it tracks trends over 7 days for a more accurate analysis, factoring in stress, alcohol consumption, and other notable effects. End-users just need to remember to wear the band before going to bed every night to get the best reading from the watch.
We get nap recognition baked into sleep tracking as well, which HUAWEI claims gets a 97% detection accuracy, and just like in the GT 5 series, there’s also Sleep Apnea Risk Screening, which should detect any early signs of sleep-breathing issues.
Also new in the Band 10 is the emotional well-being assistant that debuted with the GT 5 Ultimate, featuring that cute panda in one of the dedicated watch faces, out of the box! This feature is used for quickly glancing how the watch interprets our moods and stress levels throughout the day.
Pulse-wave Arrhythmia Analysis also makes its way to the Band 10 offering early alerts for A-fib and premature heart beat rhythms. Not the biggest deal for most users under the age of 40, but it’s still nice to have.
All this and the usuals from HUAWEI’s suite of health indicators including Heart Rate, Blood Oxygen, and Cycle Prediction for the ladies, can be found in the Band 10.
Fitness & AI Workout Enhancements
The HUAWEI Band 10 also introduces some AI-powered fitness tracking, particularly for swimming and indoor running.
We didn’t actually get to try the AI Swimming Posture Model which is supposed to utilize the nine-axis sensor with 97.9% accuracy in posture recognition, to help swimmers make sure their forms are on point. And we also get an AI-enhanced Indoor Running Mode for improving pace and distance.
Either way, like usual HUAWEI smartwatch fashion, we get over 100 workout modes built in, which users can access without a paywall.
We also get the usuals in accessing our Workout Status and Workout and Activity Records. All done though the watch of the HUAWEI Health app.
Other Smart Features
Beyond health and fitness tracking, the Band 10 includes some useful features like media control which we get direct access to by swiping right from the watch face, this works with music streamed from spotify or even video playback for streaming apps like Netflix.
Above the media controls shows a condensed version of the weather report which users can access for more information.
We can also locate our phones whether it’s a HUAWEI phone, Android, or iPhone with a trigger on the watch, so long as they’re within pairing distance.
And we do get notifications on the Band 10 for everything from emails and calendar events to messages and calls.
Although the Band 10 does not get the ability to answer calls, we can reject them, and send back an emoji or respond with templated quick replies which we can also customize in the Huawei Health app.
GCash QR payments are also making their way to the HUAWEI Band 10, but at the time we recorded this video we have yet to get it on our unit.
–But we have seen reports online of the scan to pay feature already in action.
Battery Life
Like most HUAWEI smart watches, battery life is another standout feature of the Band 10.
We get up to 14 days on a single charge with typical use, 8 days under heavy usage, and 2 days of use with just a 5-minute charge.
They’re just simply the best in our opinion, when it comes to smart watch or in this case, band battery life.
Conclusion
In conclusion the HUAWEI Band 10 should just about be the benchmark for fitness trackers in 2025 moving forward. It’s loaded with nice workout features, some even AI backed, a healthy amount of customization for users to play with, and industry-leading sleep and health tracking.
With a premium lightweight design, interesting emotional well-being insights, and great battery life, it’s an excellent companion for those seeking a feature-packed yet affordable smart wearable for workouts and general everyday use.
