MANILA, Philippines — Following actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga’s third miscarriage, her husband Mikee Morada shared that their relationship has become stronger despite what happened.

“Yes, our relationship as a couple, mas malalim (has deepened). Yung lalim ng pagmamahal (the depth of my love) and care for her, after all this experience,” the politician told the press on the sidelines of “Barako Fest 2025,” held in Lipa City, recently.

Earlier, Mikee revealed in his sister-in-law’s YouTube talk show, “Toni Talks,” that Alex suffered another miscarriage in December.

“I want her (Alex) to know that I’m super thankful for trying your best to take care of yourself while carrying… Hindi man tayo pinalad ngayon, lumalim ang ating relationship (Even though we weren’t fortunate this time, our relationship has deepened),” he said during the “Toni Talks” interview.

“Lagi kong sinasabi kahit anong mangyari biyayaan man tayo o hindi, tayong dalawa magkasama okay lang (I always say that no matter what happens — whether we are blessed with a child or not — as long as we’re together, that’s all that matters.”

His statement and strength earned praises from netizens with some saying, “Sana all may Mikee (If only everyone had a Mikee).”

“What I said came from my heart. I really prayed for the both of us. Ano man ipagkaloob tatanggapin natin (Whatever God grants us, we will accept,” he said when asked for his reaction.

Mikee was “very humbled” by the netizens’ comments, he stated. “Sa Panginoon lahat ng glory (All the glory belongs to God). That’s what I felt and I just shared it,” he added.

His wife, Alex, is now doing OK, he furthered. “OK na OK (She’s very OK). She’s very strong. That’s why it wasn’t hard for me as her partner because she has a strong faith in God. Ganda rin ng upbringing ng parents niya, so kumbaga nalagpasan din (She was also raised well by her parents, so she was able to get through it). Slowly. There are times that… But she is generally strong,” he shared.

With the midterm elections drawing near, Mikee is busy with his campaign, but he is thankful for the support that his partner is giving him. He is aiming for reelection as the city’s vice mayor in the May 2025 midterm elections.

“Yung social media (posts) niya sobra-sobra na yun (Her social media posts alone have been a huge boost for my campaign). She often comes here in Lipa and would think of ideas for me (for my campaign). Sobrang supportive ng aking asawa (My wife is very supportive). Her moral support is malaking bagay din (is a big deal also),” he maintained.

For now, no “honeymoon” for the couple, Mikee quipped.

“But if we have time, tuloy lang (we’ll make it happen). Every day is a honeymoon when we’re together,” he said.
