MANILA, Philippines — Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. officially welcomed yesterday United States Ambassador Lee Lipton.
Lipton paid a courtesy call on Teodoro at Camp Aguinaldo.
During the meeting, Lipton and Teodoro reaffirmed their commitment to the Philippines and US alliance.
Teodoro emphasized the Philippines’ role as a potential convergence hub for allies and like-minded nations in the advancement of regional security.
Teodoro said the US has been consistent in supporting the Philippines assert its sovereign rights over the country’s territorial waters and exclusive economic zone.
