“Don’t be intimidated by what you don’t know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else.” These motivational words were by Sara Blakely, the founder of the famous shapewear brand, Spanx. An advocate for innovation, Sara encourages everyone to embrace new opportunities, including technology.

Digital skills have become essential for all entrepreneurs, especially women and mompreneurs striving to balance work and motherhood. These skills unlock greater opportunities to build successful businesses.
With the Philippines’ theme for this year’s Women’s Month, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas,” the nation honors the 60 percent of registered MSMEs that are owned and led by women, recognizing their strength and resilience —qualities essential in navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), an online community of mompreneurs, leverages technology to empower women in building thriving businesses through e-commerce, social media marketing, and innovative online services.
Supported by PLDT Home, MMPH’s goal since its founding during the pandemic has been to "empower and educate moms and Filipina entrepreneurs by connecting them to a network of like-minded and driven mompreneurs." This mission has successfully paved the way for countless women to launch and scale their businesses, gain financial independence, and build a supportive community of fellow mompreneurs.
MMPH has partnered with Google Philippines to conduct the Gemini Academy to further enhance the digital skills of mompreneurs. Their workshop last March 5 not only taught mompreneurs how to use digital tools for marketing and finding crucial information online, but also how to utilize Gemini to analyze their business data and suggest innovative ways to expand their market and offerings and optimize their operations.

Underscoring PLDT Home's commitment to Madiskarte Moms PH, VP for Marketing Communications & Services Ina Pineda remarked, “PLDT Home understands the rising impact of generative artificial intelligence in this digital age. We are excited about its potential to streamline workflows and unlock new capabilities for mompreneurs to excel in this rapidly evolving world. Simply put, AI can be a game-changer in making life more manageable and empowering for our Madiskarte Moms.”
Mompreneurs embody the evolution of women’s role in society. Their ability to fulfill the demands of family and business speaks volumes about women-led businesses in the Philippines. From small startups to full-scale enterprises, these women are helping evolve the future of entrepreneurship with their creativity, passion, and digital tools.
Pineda also announced that this April, PLDT Home and MMPH will open nominations for Gawad Madiskarte 2025. She added, “This is our way of showing our unwavering support for all women, especially moms.”
Gawad Madiskarte recognizes women who use technology to level up their business in the special category Diskarteng Digital or Best Multi-channel Business. Past winners include Theresa Carbonel-Buenflor of Ellana Mineral Cosmetics (2022); Rojerette May Martin-Pimentel of Momsatwork Management Consultancy Firm and DigiTalent (2023); Eraiza Ramos of Elaira’s Crochet (2023); and Maria Korina Bertulfo of Filipina Home Based Moms (2024).
Now, with 199,000 members, MMPH has trained over 15,000 mompreneurs through its workshops and masterclasses powered by PLDT Home, helped turn more than 450 members into brand affiliates, and distributed 150 business toolkits. MMPH recognizes that with access to digital tools, mompreneurs can exponentially improve the way they run their businesses and promote their products, proving that entrepreneurship is no longer confined to brick-and-mortar stores, which come with prohibitive costs to small entrepreneurs.
Thousands of mompreneurs are now using e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada, as well as selling on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Their digital businesses allow them to stay present for their families while reducing costs to deliver their products to buyers.
Through MMPH's partnership with PLDT Home, mompreneurs also gain access to face-to-face masterclasses organized by PLDT Home, bringing together inspiring founders and leaders of some of the most successful businesses in the country —all of which started as small enterprises. Past workshops have included inspiring entrepreneurs such as Wanderskye co-founder and CEO Bianca Larrañaga; president and CEO of Rite Tea Jaypee Morales; Commune Café owner Rosario Juan; Carmen’s Best founder Francisco “Paco” Magsaysay; and Potato Corner co-founder and Tokyo Tempura founder Jorge Wieneke.
Mompreneurs are not only turning their dreams into reality but are also inspiring the next generation of women entrepreneurs to lead this revolution.
Pineda concluded by emphasizing a fundamental connection: "PLDT Home, in its mission to bridge businesses and communities, is ultimately rooted in the same core of MMPH: connecting and nurturing the bonds with your loved ones and family, the wellspring of your madiskarte spirit."
