MANILA, Philippines — Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon, best known for his role as Ned Leeds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Spider-Man" films, is officially engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Veronica Leahov.

The actor shared the news on Thursday (Manila time) through his Instagram account, posting photos of his proposal set against the New York City skyline.

The romantic setup featured a heart-shaped floral arch, glowing candles, and an intimate atmosphere. Batalon, 28, dressed in sleek all-black attire, got down on one knee as Leahov, wearing a bejeweled gown and a cream-colored fur coat, beamed with excitement.

Batalon captioned the post, "The beginning of the rest of our lives together," alongside heart and infinity symbols.

Leahov, an architectural designer originally from Moldova, also shared photos of the engagement, including a close-up of her diamond ring.

She expressed her joy in the caption, writing, "A lifetime of us!!!! I never imagined my heart could hold so much love and feel such depth of emotion. This is the purest happiness I've ever known, and I can't wait to spend forever with the love of my life!!"

Batalon replied in the comment section, "Forever and always."

Fans and friends alike flooded the couple's social media with congratulatory messages.

Beyond his personal milestone, Batalon has a busy year ahead. His upcoming film, "Novocaine," co-starring Jack Quaid, is set to premiere on March 14.

Apart from his roles in Spider-Man and Avengers films, Batalon also appeared in the web series "The Daily Bugle" (2019 to 2021). He played Keon in the Netflix film "Let It Snow" (2019) and the titular character in the Syfy television series "Reginald the Vampire" (2022 to 2024).

Batalon was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Filipino migrant parents Billy Batalon and Vangie Andres, who hail from Pangasinan.

In an episode of "Reginald the Vampire," Batalon spoke the Ilocano language to honor his Filipino heritage, even using "Andres" as his character's surname as a tribute to his mother.
