The upcoming production of "Into the Woods" is looking mighty stellar as Eugene Domingo joins its cast.

On Monday, Theatre Group Asia (TGA) announced the award-winning comedienne is joining the cast, playing the role of Jack's mother (from Jack and Beanstalk).

"I'm so excited to be part of this popular and critically acclaimed musical as Jack's mother," Eugene said in a statement.

"I love that the material is inspired by fairy tales yet reveals a realistic twist we can all relate to. I love all the surprises and come after the characters are all put together. This one entertains as ,much as it teaches."

Eugene is the latest star to join the play, following the announcement of Lea Salonga as The Witch and New York-based Fil-Am Broadway star Arielle Jacobs as Cinderella.

Based on James Lapine's book, "Into The Woods" is a musical that sees several fairy tales like "Jack and the Beanstalk," "Cinderella," "Little Red Riding Hood" intertwine.

Their adventures are tied together by a baker and his wife who set off on a journey to break The Witch’s curse preventing the couple from having a child. What happens is a magical event that portrays the impact and consequences of the characters’ actions.

TGA is the same organization behind “Request sa Radyo” in 2024, the wordless play headlined by Lea and Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee Dolly de Leon.

Behind the TGA production is Tony Award-winning visionary Clint Ramos, who will serve as overall artistic director. Chair Arespacochaga will be director.

"Into the Woods" is set run in August at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
