Ethan Slater honored Ariana Grande and her first ever Oscar nomination with an Instagram post.
The “Wicked” actor who played Boq Woodsman, posted a candid photo of Ariana, who played Glinda, looking out a window and holding pink balloons.
On his Instagram Story, Ethan also posted a still of Ariana from the musical fantasy film, simply captioning it, “Oscar. Nominated.” He also reposted Ariana’s throwback video singing “The Wizard and I.”
Ariana and Ethan reportedly started dating in 2023, the same year they separated from their spouses. They have yet to officially confirm their relationship to the public, but have been posting photos of each other on social media.
Ariana was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal as Glinda in “Wicked.”
“I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise,” she said on Instagram. “I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny Ari who sat and studied Judy Garland singing ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ just before the big, beautiful bubble entered. I’m so proud of you, tiny.”
“Wicked” received 10 nominations at the 2025 Oscars, including Best Actress for Cynthia Erivo, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, and Best Picture.
“Wicked: Part 1” followed Glinda and Elphaba on their self-discovery journeys and unlikely friendship at Shiz University.
“Wicked: For Good,” the musical and film’s second act, premieres in cinemas this year.
