MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has directed the police and the coast guard to dispose of all narcotics at the port of entry to prevent them from reaching the market.
Marcos said authorities should determine the quantity of illegal drugs discovered in ports and ensure that everything is destroyed “as quickly as possible.”
“Go where (the drugs) enter. We will close it. And we’re slowly doing that,” he said in the second episode of his podcast yesterday.
“I told the Coast Guard and the PNP (Philippine National Police), watch it closely because I do not want them to return to the market,” he said.
Marcos cited the need to ensure that no seized illicit drugs would be spared from destruction.
“Destroy them as quickly as possible. And make sure you are there so if they say so many tons, the actual quantity is there, not reduced... pour gasoline on them, burn them,” he said. — Emmanuel Tupas, Neil Jayson Servallos
