MANILA, Philippines — The Share-the-Love with Heart Mate campaign started as a simple choice in the kitchen (to use a healthy type of cooking oil), but the simple commitment transformed into an extraordinary act of bayanihan as it awakened the spirit of community in consumers.
Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil’s exclusive distributor Fly Ace Corporation (FAC) made a call for “donations” to help fund the financial needs of indigent patients seeking medical assistance from the Philippine General Hospital. They called it the Share-the-Love with Heart Mate campaign, and the cooking oil brand made an initial pledge of P1 million for the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation Inc. (PGHMFI).
The campaign ran from July 15 to October 15, 2025. For every purchase of Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil at Robinsons Supermarket, P5 was donated to PGHMFI. This simple act allowed Filipino households to transform everyday cooking moments into meaningful contributions that help strengthen PGH’s medical programs and services.
The fundraising campaign became a nationwide movement of compassion and raised P1,227,450, even surpassing the original pledge of P1 million, with the official turnover of donations held in Robinsons Supermarket Ermita.
The brand is a recognized product know for containining zero cholesterol, rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, and has the lowest saturated fat versus dietary fats, which can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke with every delicious dish cooked at home. Ideal for daily cooking, it remains a staple in Filipino kitchens.
The donation is already making an impact, with funds directly supporting essential medical programs and services for PGH patients, especially those navigating the most challenging moments of their lives.
“We help indigent patients directly through medical assistance — assisting them with laboratory tests that need to be done outside — and by providing equipment and supplies that are beyond our budget. All of these donations go to the different aspects of our work, whether it’s direct patient assistance or supplying the instruments and equipment that may be needed," said PGHMFI chairman and president Dr. Telesforo E. Gana Jr.
This collaboration demonstrated how purpose-driven partnerships can uplift communities and bring hope to those in need. The turnover ceremony marked the culmination of a campaign that turned cooking into an act of love — nurturing the health of families at home while improving the lives of others across the country.
