Cassy Legaspi revealed that she has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
Hypothyroidism or an underactive thyroid is a condition in which the thyroid gland doesn't make enough hormones to address your body's needs.
Symptoms include weight gain, infertility, fatigue, trouble tolerating the cold, and joint and muscle pain, among others.
In an episode of "Kapuso Artistambayan," Cassy said she struggled to lose weight due to her diagnosis.
"Fatigued ako, tapos intense falling hair. Sobra talaga!" she said.
"Tapos palagi akong nilalamig, parang may fever ako palagi, pero fever na nilalamig, parang ganoon," she added.
The Sparkle actress said it was also challenging for her to work out as she was always sick due to hypothyroidism.
However, Cassy said that she used her diagnosis as a motivation to set a new goal: to be healthier instead of focusing on just losing weight.

"Sabi ko talaga, 'Alam mo, at this point, Cassandra, 'wag ka nang magpapayat, maging healthy ka muna,'" she said.
In a Saturday report by Aubrey Carampbel on "24 Oras Weekend," Cassy said she switched to doing sports like tennis and paddle for her workout routine, as well as pilates.
In terms of her diet, Cassy said she has no restrictions.
"I don't cut out carbs. I don't like restrictions because that's what got me into this mess in the first place," she said.
Aside from Cassy, other celebrities who were diagnosed with hypothyroidism include "Widows' War" stars Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana.
In December, Cassy launched a vodcast titled "Cassy's Corner."
In the same month, she also served as the cover girl of Yris Magazine, a digital magazine focused on fashion.
