Filipino artists certainly brought home the bacon after their art pieces fetched a pretty penny at the recently concluded 3rd edition of Art SG.

"The full range of sale prices from Philippine artists have not been disclosed to us but some significant results include Jigger Cruz's End to End (2024) which sold for USD$28,000 (about P1,637,482.00) through Artinformal," said Shuyin Yang, fair director.

She adds, 22 works on paper by Elmer Borlongan were sold at Ames Yavuz Gallery on VIP day alone, while National Artist BenCab and CPP 13 Artists Awardee Mark Justiniani also saw successful sales through the Gajah Gallery.

According to Tina Fernandez, founder of Artinformal, the 3rd edition of Art SG "has been especially good for our gallery."

"We brought two artists whom we have never shown in any international fair and they were the artists who sold first," she said.

They are Pope Bacay and Monica Delgado who saw up to a 3rd reservation for one of her paintings.

"All in all, we sold 9 art works," Fernandez said proudly.

There were a total of 15 Filipino artists who showed in four participating galleries at Art SG 2025.

On its 3rd year, the four-day art fair welcomed more than 41,000 visitors not just from the region but from as far away as Europe, US, and Australia.

Cardi Gallery led the sales with Pablo Picasso's Butte d'homie Ala pipe for USD1,200,000. While a Georg Baselitz sold for EUR650,000.

"The third edition of ART SG has truly set a new benchmark," said Jasdeep Sandhu, Founder, Gajah Gallery in a statement. "The fair’s vibrant energy was palpable, driven by a notable increase in collector attendance from the region. It was particularly encouraging to engage with such informed collectors, reflecting the growing interest in our Southeast Asian artists. This was further affirmed by successful sales of works by Yunizar, Murniasih, Mark Justiniani, and BenCab."

Sarah Lahbati, Cristalle Belo-Pitt and Justin Pitt, as well as Quark and Bianca Henares were just a few of a handful of Filipinos who attended the high profile art event.

The next iteration of ART SG will take place from January 23-25, 2026. Details on the fourth edition will be announced in due course.
