AS half-sisters, Ara Mina and Cristine Reyes have never been this strongly bonded, thanks to the latter’s (former?) boyfriend Marco Gumabao.
Ara can only shower Marco with praises for making her younger sister even closer to, and more constantly in touch, with their family.
In her guesting on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the elder sib couldn’t help but feel a bit too cheesy how genuinely sweet Cristine was the day after the May 12 mid-term polls.

“She sent me a text message asking what my plans were the next day. I asked why, then she replied: ‘Let’s have dinner!’ That was her way of consoling me,” Ara shared.

The TV host-actress ran for Councilor in the second district of Pasig City but didn’t make it. It was Ara’s second time to get a shot at local politics, the first was for the same post in Quezon City many years ago.
Ara continued: “Maybe, Cristine thought I had to feel relaxed so she was there to cheer me up.”
If only for the heartwarming gesture, Ara could only credit Marco who she heard is a family-oriented person.
Speaking of whom, what does she know about the real status of his relationship with her younger sis? Is Marco already a thing of the past?
Apparently processing her thoughts with caution, Ara said, “Whatever it is that I know stays with me. Besides I’m not in a position to give an answer to that. Cristine is already mature, she looks at things more maturely.”
Yet she’d rather not delve into specifics, “She confided in me, and on my end I gave my thoughts about it.”
What’s a lot more important, Ara stressed is that: “My sister knows that I’m always be here for her no matter what happens.”
A credible authority on matters of the heart, Ara only has this to share with Cristine: “Speaking from experience, I believe that if you’re meant for each other, then you’re meant to be. If you don’t end up together, at least, you can choose to be friends.”
Talks about the Cristine-Marco breakup began to swirl when eagle-eyed netizens noticed their respective Instagram accounts to be no longer carrying each other’s photos.
There are baseless, if unfair rumors about Cristine being made as Marco’s milking cow.
On the other hand, Cristine’s mercurial temperament — oftentimes untenable — is also perceived to have rocked their romantic boat.
The good news, however, is that Cristine, according to sources, has a newfound love: reportedly former National Youth Commission chair Gio Tiongson.

COME December 2, Gabbi Garcia will turn 27.
Currently with so much on her plate that translates to monetary blessings, the Kapuso actress has yet to decide if she will chase her long-cherished dream of joining a national beauty pageant.
As for many years now, Gabbi has been taking on hosting jobs for Miss Universe Philippines. Her supporters though would like to see her compete rather than host.
And why not? The 26-year-old actress has a good fighting chance, let’s get real!
Too bad, Gabbi’s pageant dream will have to take a backseat.
While she openly admits to racing against time given her age, Gabbi is equally straightforward in saying that pursuing her childhood dream would mean she’ll go jobless for a year or two.
Simply put — she’s tied to her endorsement contracts that won’t allow her to seize the opportunity.
Given this problematic premise, one would readily think that no way can Gabby ever squeeze joining pageants into her career agenda.
Expect more hefty endorsements rolling down like avalanche, and before she knows it — not only is Gabbi way past her age, her overall package might no longer appear crown-worthy.
Always a pageant host, never a candidate? What a missed opportunity!
