Alfred Vargas and his wife Yasmine Espiritu had an adorable meet-cute moment back in 2008.
On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the actor turned politician shared how he met his wife in a festival in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
"So artista ako 'non, mayroon ding mga artista doon, tapos napansin ko parang mas maraming nagpapa-picture sa isang taon doon. Siya [Yasmine] 'yon. Sabi ko, grabe ang ganda niya. So siguro, ano talaga, love at first sight," Alfred said.
According to Yasmine, she met Alfred when they were both backstage of the event because she accompanied her friend who was among the performers at the event.
But it turned out that Yasmine already knew Alfred before meeting him that time and even manifested her marriage to the actor.
"Naalala ko pa asa sala pa kami, nakita ko siya sa [TV]. Sabi ko Lola, sino 'yan? Tapos sabi niya, si Alfred Vargas. Sabi ko, may lahi ba? 'Yun ang first na sinabi ko kasi ang tangos ng ilang niya. Tapos sabi niya, hindi wala, Filipino 'yan. Sabi ko, ay Lola, 'yan ang magiging asawa ko," she shared.
When Yasmine saw Alfred backstage, she maintained her cool, opposite to how Alfred reacted.
"Ako, gumawa ako ng paraan. I looked for someone na kakilala siya tapos sabi ko, ipakilala mo naman ako. Tapos noong nagharap na kami, ako 'yung na-starstruck. Actually, ang isa sa pinakauna kong tinanong sa kaniya ay kung may boyfriend na siya," Alfred shared.
After their first meeting, Alfred immediately courted her and they got married in a civil ceremony in 2010.
In the same interview, Alfred also expressed his love to Yasmine, saying having her in his life felt like winning the lottery.
"Amore, jackpot na jackpot ako sa 'yo. I won the lottery of life when I met you. I will keep on fighting for you and you can count on my loyalty 100 percent. Thank you kasi ikaw ang nanay ng mga anak ko. Mahal na mahal kita," he said.
After their civil wedding in 2010, Alfred and Yasmine tied the knot in a church wedding in 2017.
They have four children: Alexandra Milan, Aryana Cassandra, Alfredo Cristiano, and Aurora Sofia. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
