ABKD convener Dr. Jonathan Geronimo spoke before the students of St Paul University Manila (SPUM) last 26 March 2025 as part of Paulivotes 2025: Empowering Choices, Upholding What’s Right. Geronimo gave an overview of what first-time voters should know about the upcoming 2025 elections, including the importance of fact-checking in choosing candidates.

Paulivotes 2025 gave SPUM students the opportunity to learn not only the technical details of the automated election system but also the socioeconomic context of the current political landscape. Dr. Geronimo tackled the connection between the existence of political dynasties and disinformation in social media.
Dr. Geronimo also explained how red-tagging can be considered a form of disinformation and electoral fraud. He encouraged SPUM students to organize themselves as a way to address the atmosphere of fear created by red-tagging.
Paulivotes 2025 also featured a talk by Sr. Pat Fortes of the Diocesan Commission on Education and Lay Formation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalookan. Sister Fortes highlighted the significance of discernment in the elections.
